Standard air freight on regular scheduled services takes 2 to 4 days depending on the destination and carrier schedule. What is the difference between express and standard air freight?
Express air freight prioritises the first available flight for your cargo, often using priority handling at the origin airport. It is the right choice when your deadline is tight and cost is secondary to speed. Standard air freight uses regular scheduled carrier services with standard handling, which gives slightly longer transit times but meaningfully lower costs. We recommend the right option based on your deadline and budget, rather than defaulting to the most expensive choice.
Can you handle AOG situations for airplane components?
Yes. AOG response is a core capability. We respond within 30 minutes of your call, operate 24 hours a day every day of the year, and deliver direct to your hangar or MRO facility. Do you handle customs clearance for air freight shipments?
Yes. We manage UK export customs clearance and import customs clearance at the destination as part of the air freight service. Our team handles commodity classification, documentation preparation, and declaration submission. We flag any licence or compliance requirements before the shipment departs, not after it has arrived at a border.
How is air freight pricing calculated?
Air freight is priced on chargeable weight, which is the higher of the actual weight in kg or the volumetric weight. Volumetric weight is calculated by multiplying the length, width, and height of each piece in centimetres and dividing by 6000. For lightweight but bulky cargo, volumetric weight is typically the basis for pricing. We confirm chargeable weight before issuing a firm quote so there are no surprises.
