What is the difference between FTL and LTL freight?
FTL means Full Truck Load. Your cargo occupies the entire trailer and travels directly from collection to delivery without intermediate stops. This is the right choice for large consignments, fragile or sensitive cargo that cannot be co-loaded, or when you need a guaranteed transit time on a direct vehicle. LTL means Less than Truck Load. Your cargo shares the trailer with other shipments and is priced per pallet or per tonne, which makes it cost-effective for smaller loads. Both options are available across the UK and into continental Europe.
How long does road freight from the UK to Europe take?
UK to France or the Benelux countries typically takes 2 to 3 days. UK to Germany or Poland is usually 3 to 4 days. Southern Europe including Spain, Italy, and Portugal takes 4 to 6 days. These are standard transit times for FTL direct services. For express dedicated options, transit times can be reduced. For LTL groupage services, allow 1 to 2 additional days. We provide specific estimates at quote stage based on your exact collection and delivery points.
Do you manage customs for UK to Europe road freight post-Brexit?
Yes. All road freight between the UK and EU countries requires customs declarations on both sides since Brexit. We manage UK export customs clearance through HMRC and EU import customs clearance through our partner agents in the destination country. T1 transit documentation is prepared where required for goods moving through third countries. You do not need to organise a separate customs broker. Everything is handled as part of the road freight booking.
