UK domestic and pan-European road freight. Full loads, part loads, and dedicated express vehicles. Post-Brexit customs documentation handled as part of every cross-border booking.
Road freight is the most flexible mode for UK domestic and European cross-border shipments. GoodFreight arranges Full Truck Load, Less than Truck Load, dedicated express, and groupage services from the UK to destinations across Europe. For oversized or heavy cargo, specialist flatbed, curtainsider, and low-loader vehicles are available with permit management included. We handle ADR documentation for hazardous goods road freight.
Post-Brexit, all road freight crossing between the UK and EU countries requires customs declarations on both sides. This has added administrative complexity that many businesses find difficult to manage without specialist support. Our team manages T1 transit documents, CMR consignment notes, and UK and EU customs clearance so that the border crossing is not a bottleneck in your supply chain. You do not need to appoint a separate customs broker for European road freight.

FTL means Full Truck Load. Your cargo occupies the entire trailer and travels directly from collection to delivery without intermediate stops. This is the right choice for large consignments, fragile or sensitive cargo that cannot be co-loaded, or when you need a guaranteed transit time on a direct vehicle. LTL means Less than Truck Load. Your cargo shares the trailer with other shipments and is priced per pallet or per tonne, which makes it cost-effective for smaller loads. Both options are available across the UK and into continental Europe.
UK to France or the Benelux countries typically takes 2 to 3 days. UK to Germany or Poland is usually 3 to 4 days. Southern Europe including Spain, Italy, and Portugal takes 4 to 6 days. These are standard transit times for FTL direct services. For express dedicated options, transit times can be reduced. For LTL groupage services, allow 1 to 2 additional days. We provide specific estimates at quote stage based on your exact collection and delivery points.
Yes. All road freight between the UK and EU countries requires customs declarations on both sides since Brexit. We manage UK export customs clearance through HMRC and EU import customs clearance through our partner agents in the destination country. T1 transit documentation is prepared where required for goods moving through third countries. You do not need to organise a separate customs broker. Everything is handled as part of the road freight booking.
Yes. We arrange specialist vehicles including flatbed, curtainsider, low-loader, and mega trailers for cargo that exceeds standard trailer dimensions or weight limits. For shipments requiring permits due to size or weight under UK and European regulations, we manage the permit application as part of the service. Provide full dimensions and weight at quote stage so we can confirm the right vehicle type and any permit requirements.
Yes. For time-critical road shipments, a dedicated vehicle travels direct from collection to delivery without co-loading or intermediate stops. This eliminates the additional transit time associated with multi-stop groupage routes and gives you a confirmed delivery time. We can also arrange overnight and weekend collections for urgent cross-border road freight. Tell us your deadline and we will confirm whether a dedicated option is achievable and at what cost.
